Notice to residents of Powers and Spalding

In the event the Spalding Township Fire Department is notified that tornado is expected in the immediate area, the fire siren located at the Township Hall will be activated as a warning. The siren will be sounded by a steady tone for one minute followed by three minutes of silence. This sequence will occur three times. If the siren is sounded, you are to take immediate shelter in a central room, hallway, or basement, away from any windows. Emergency weather information and warning are broadcast by the National Oceanographic and Aeronautic Administration (NOAA) via weather radio. These radios can be purchased at Radio Shack and the larger department stores. Make sure you have free batteries with your radio!
